Just build it!

Construction workers at work.
The finished product.
Today's book:  The Construction Alphabet Book by Jerry Pallotta.  We learned all about construction material, vehicles, project types, and tools.  The kids already knew a lot, but we learned even more terminology.  Terms such as excavator, aerial lift, bulldozer, crane, wrecking ball, level, wrench, saw, blueprint, concrete mixer, and jackhammer are just a few of our new vocabulary.
The new theme of 'Construction' is quite a hit!  The boys already know a great deal about construction vehicles and tools.

Wait until you see our new 'Construction' tree map- IT'S AMAZING.....photo coming tomorrow (I forgot the iPad today and my other camera's memory filled after the above photos).

Following our story, we 'drew' a blueprint of a 'town', then used blue painter's tape to create our own houses.  Make sure you visit the beautiful 'town' tomorrow in our classroom.

Later, we practiced fine motor cutting skills by cutting out pictures of tools and gluing them onto paper.  The cutting practice was well needed!  Check out this beautiful artwork:
