We Use our Skin to Touch!

Our completed 'Five Senses' Tree Map.  We learned many words to specifically describe our environment.
To wrap up the Five Senses Theme, we learned all about touch!  We began with the Berger's book:  You Touch with Your Fingers.  We quickly learned that you can touch with all your skin....not JUST your fingers.  The book helped us learn vocabulary that was very specific:  sticky, rough, smooth, sharp and pointy.

After the book, we touched a variety of objects and used adjectives like those listed above to describe the feel.  We made this beautiful 'Touch' art, but I forgot to send them home!  They are safe for Monday.

This weekend, focus on using specific adjectives to describe things you hear, see, taste, touch, and smell in your neighborhood.

Today is also Dr. Seuss' birthday!  Check out our Dr. Seuss puzzle!  The kids worked for at least 30 minutes, using the 'puzzle' rules (see below).

Next week we will learn all about things that go on wheels.  Enjoy the weekend!
