After reading our book of the day, "Hands Can" (by Cheryl Hudson), we played 'Charades' by acting out things we can do with our hands. Using pictures, we read our sentences together that began with "My hands can....".
For our '100 Days of School' book, we made apples with our handprints and fingerprints for the September page. Afterward, each of the kids sequenced the steps of the project using pictures.
During center time, the kids practiced writing lines across the page (ZOOM!!) and down the page (ZIP!!). Using pictures paired with words, we read our entries for Day 2 to each other.
We made a class graph for the question, "What color are my eyes?", counting and comparing our results. There are some beautiful blue and brown eyes in our class!
Hoping that the kids will have fun cutting and glueing their pictures into the 'home' version of "My Hands Can". We'll have fun reading our books together at school!
