After reading "What I Like" by W.E. Strauss, the kids took turns telling the group what they like to do outside
Tucker likes to swing.
Beau likes to play outside.
Evan likes to water plants.
Joseph likes to climb a tree.
Ms. Gail likes swim at the beach.
What do YOU like to do outside?
While playing outside on the playground today, kids were starting to play alongside or with a friend. Joseph shared the basketball with a friend, while Beau and Evan were assembling a track for their cars. Tucker played tag with a friend, taking turns running away from Ms. Gail!
The science question asked the kids to determine if the seed(s) in 4 different kinds of fruit were big or little. We passed each fruit to each other while we described it (shape, color, texture). After cutting the fruit in half, we placed the seeds next to each other and then recorded our results.
To work on fine motor coordination, we used Wikki-Sticks to make different shapes on the table. I found out that what the kids really enjoyed doing was rolling them all into a big ball and then pulling the sticky pieces apart!
Looking forward to Friday and guessing what is in the 'Mystery Bag." (Hint: It's round and red, but that is all I am telling for now!)
