Wearing our "I CAN!" superhero capes, we sang songs while
acting out the words to "I Can Do That" and "I Can Walk" (http://www.dreamenglish.com/). Ms. Carol and I couldn't
quite keep up with our four superheroes!
Our mystery bag was introduced today. Using all of their senses, the kids decided that it must be an apple. They were absolutely right and each received an apple to explore. We cut our apples up into small pieces for a taste treat. I think finding the seeds was the most exciting part for the kids. We heard all of these observations:
Evan: "This is scientific!"
Beau: "Look! Look! There are seeds!"
Joseph: "I can plant it in the garden and get a really big tree."
Tucker: "These seeds are tiny. Here's one for you."
Ms. Kelly brought a special book for us to read for our "I CAN" superhero day. "I CAN DO IT DAY", written by Louise McClenathan, starred a frog who could not run, climb or fly like the other animals on race day. However, frog finally was able to shine when he 'outjumped' all of the other animals. We liked the book so much that we are going to dress up like the animals next week and act out what happened.
You will find the picture your child drew of a house in his backpack today. We used our 'zip', 'zoom' and 'down the slide' writing strokes to draw the house.
The kids are really getting the hang of "100 Days of School" journal! They are looking through the activity pictures themselves and circling the activities we did all by themselves! When asked to 'read' the pictures and words, the kids are pointing to each picture that corresponds to the word they are saying.
I have so enjoyed being with your kids this week. Looking forward to a full week of fun and learning.
Have a great weekend!
