At the Market! The TSGI kids had a fun Out & About to Atherton
Market! After learning about healthy foods in the classroom, we were
happy to put our knowledge to the test in the real world!
This morning Ms. Kelly read us a book: Now I Know- Healthy Eating by Melvin and Gilda Berger. The simple text and clear pictures helped us learn about foods that are good for our body....preparing us for the market.
Before we left Tucker and Joseph shared using the new format. Tucker showed us his Spiderman nightlight/snowglobe.
The walk was great- the rain held off and we're all in the routine! We even saw the Lynx train and the conductors blew the horn....JUST for us!
Once at the market, we found a spot perfect for eating our lunch. At least it was indoors! Next we went inside the old......REALLY old......trolley. We took great pictures- see below!
On our tour of the market we saw honey, eggs, soap, nuts, bread, fish, fruit and vegetables. We tasted honey (thanks Garrett and Tucker) and dried apples. We touched pumpkins and fish.
Tomorrow, we will find and make our own plates of healthy food!
