Llama, Llama M-A-D at Mama!

Sorry for the late post- I just realized it saved as a 'draft' rather than publishing.

Yucky music, great big feet.
Ladies smelling way too sweet.
Look at knees and stand in line.
Llama Llama starts to whine.
Does any child like to go shopping? Not Llama Llama! But Mama can't leave Llama at home, so off they go to Shop-O-Rama. Lots of aisles. Long lines. Mama is too busy to notice that Llama Llama is getting m-a-d! And before he knows it, he's having a full-out tantrum! Mama quickly calms him down, but she also realizes that they need to make shopping more fun for both of them.
Lama, Lama Mad at Mama by Anna Dewby is one of Ms. Ellen's FAVORITE books....EVER- I couldn't resist reading this one to my little friends! Don't worry, the kids aren't mad at you.....in fact, we learned about the cold pricklies that Lama Lama used as he got mad. We talked about ways that he could have expressed his feeling INSTEAD of the huge tantrum. We learned that even when we are upset we can use warm fuzzies and be helpers. No promises that your child will remember AND use this strategy the next time he gets upset....especially in public.....but we tried!

I'm so proud of my little friends and their knowledge of the sounds we have learned. Today we reviewed all the sounds we've learned thus far then combined sounds and vowels in simple consonant-vowel words. The kids are getting really good at this!

Next, we headed to the PARK! It was so beautiful we had a great time! We decided to take our lunch and have a picnic. What a fun day!
