Warm Fuzzies & Cold Pricklies

Today we began Ms. Ellen's FAVORITE behavior lesson.....learning all about warm fuzzies and cold pricklies.  We began by reading a book about a pig named Owen, who sends a hug to his grandmother through USPS, delightfully cheering the day of the mail carriers along the way.

Then, Ms. Kelly taught us all about Warm Fuzzies and Cold Pricklies.  See Ms. Kelly's blog for a humorous account of the lesson.  She tells it MUCH better than I can- I just tend to state the facts!

Afterwards, we made a warm fuzzy and cold prickly sheet using pom poms as a visual representation of 'warm fuzzies' and the hard side of velcro as 'cold pricklies'.  Have your child add more examples to their chart.

The children came up with these ideas for our warm fuzzy and cold prickly chart.

The children got the concepts- I even heard some spontaneous talk about warm fuzzies in the hall.  Now we will talk about them all the time!
